Old Paint Factory
Robin Lee Architecture were commissioned develop 88 Garratt Lane in south west London. The site consisted of an existing three-storey former paint factory of concrete framed construction, with a rooftop development by Sergison Bates Architects completed in 2004. The development has created 12,500 ft2 of residential space across 20 apartment units.
The utiltarian character of the host building was retained, with new elements subtly introduced and barely distinguishable from the historic fabric. The floor plane was treated homogeneously in industrial parquet blocks made from European Oak linking all interior spaces.
